I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was cozy and well-equipped, but there were some minor inconveniences. The service was friendly but slightly slow at times. The location was superb with beautiful sea views, though parking was a bit challenging. The dining experience was good overall. The facilities were adequate but not exceptional.
Rooms

The hotel is currently undergoing upgrades to bring a historic touch into the modern era. While the rooms upstairs may need a bit of upgrading to match the lovely refurbishment downstairs, the staff is working diligently to elevate the experience. The service was very helpful, friendly, and professional, creating a warm atmosphere despite the lack of airflow and provided fans. However, the location opposite Manor Gardens offers a high standard for a pleasant stay, with a few parking challenges, and the dining experience, though with limited options, showed room for improvement.
Rooms
7.0
The rooms are cozy, but they could benefit from a few upgrades, especially in terms of electrical outlets. The warmth with no airflow can be a small inconvenience, easily fixed with a fan provided by the hotel.
Service
8.0
The staff is dedicated to upgrading this historic building, ensuring a positive guest experience. They are helpful, friendly, and professional, making guests feel welcome and taken care of.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is excellent for exploring Exmouth, offering a fantastic view over the sea from the third-floor bedrooms. Although the bar prices may be on the higher side, the proximity to the lovely Manor Gardens adds to the overall charm.
Dining
7.0
The dining options may be limited at the moment, but the lovely hotel's restaurant with its historical relevance in the area offers a pleasant atmosphere for a relaxing meal.
Facilities
The hotel offers standard facilities, and the ongoing refurbishment guarantees an improved experience for future guests.

Our stay at the hotel was fantastic! The rooms were upgraded for free, offering a great view across the Exe. They were basic but very clean with no issues. The room had 1 x Double Bed, 1 x Single Bed, and a camp bed for our youngest, which he loved. It was definitely good value for money.
Rooms
8.0
The rooms were basic, but very clean and offered a great view. The extra camp bed was a hit with our youngest.
Service
9.0
The service was superb! The staff were lovely, very polite, and friendly without being overbearing. They always went the extra mile and remembered our preferences. They were extremely helpful, especially when we were confined to the hotel due to the snow.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was excellent with wonderful sea views. It was ideal for easy access to the town but still quiet. Great for exploring the seafront, harbour, and town center.
Dining
8.0
The dining was to a very high standard. The food, including roast butternut squash, spinach, and a really good veggie sausage, was delicious. However, the menu was limited, leaving a bit to be desired.
Facilities

The facilities were quite up to the standard of everything else.
